More about diving
So alittle more abou my diving. so I finally got on with my diving course. there’s not relly much more to tell about the first two days, we just had classroom instruction, and pool time, and I did burn my sholders alittle, as I couldn’t get sunscreen on it very often. so that was over, and now it was time for the boat. so we get on the first boat, this is the one that will take us out to the boat will will be living on. and about mid morning, we stop and go for a snorkle, before lunch. this snorkle was our first time on the barrier reef, and it was soo cool. the fist we great, and there was this fist called a maori wrasse, but it was nick named ‘wallie’ and was about a meter lond, and very friendly, and you could touch it’s forhead. so that was a great start, and then we went to dock with our ‘mother ship’ the Atlantic Clipper, and moverd our stuff onboard, had a briefing, and all sorts of things, and then finally, we got to dive. we did our first two dives back to back, and it was really amazing to acutually get down 10 meters under water, much different then in the pool. we were mostly consontrating on doing skills, so we didn’t have much time to explore, but we did see a cool turtle, and some other fish. that night, it was just nice to chill on the boat, and relax. it was so nice just being out on the open water. the only thing about a boat, is you get up early, we were up at quarter to six, so everyone could be in the water before 6:30. but it was a great way to wake up. agin we were mostly doing skills on this dive so we didn;t get to do much exploring, but there were lot’s of cool fish about. after that dive and breakfast, the boat sailed to another reef (we were on norman, and went to saxon), and once there did our second dive that day. with this we finished doing out skills, and then we became certified. we did get a little bit of free time on this dive and saw more cool fish. later that day, we had our first free dive as certified divers, and no instructors around. it was great, so free, what a great new wonderful world. then I had to maike a choice, should I spend the extra $90, and get the adventure cert, which would alow me to dive deeper, and put me only one dive away from my advanced, and I finally said yes. so that night, we had out first night dive, nd we had a little instruction, but mostly just swimming around, and seeing all sorts of cool fish, it really was very different at night. then hat night, becase I had chossen to do the adventure cert, I had to do a buch of hope work, so no parting for me, which was all the best anyway, as I had done four dives that day. the next mornin brought two more cert dives, deep, and navigation. the navigation wasn’t very fun or interextion but the deep was cool, as there were few fish down there, but they were big and cool. then the last dive, which was part of the avdenture cert, but really just a free dive, and that was the best dive yet, I started to really feel confortable under water, and nopw I can’t wait to go back in. then the sad part of having to leave the boat, it was very nice, and I’m so glad to have done it. now a partial list of fish I saw
Napolian Maroi Wrasse, spangled emporer, baracuda (2meters), white tip shark, turtles (big), lion fish, lots of clown fish (nemo), and more that I can’t remember at the moment, but I’ll put in here later.
